National Day of Prayer

Please join us on Thursday, May 2nd at Gibson Park on Bank Street in Waverly at the noon hour for a time of prayer for our nation. Pastor Steve will lead in praying for several aspects of our community life, including our government, schools, and churches, just to name a few. It is an annual blessing for all involved, so we hope you can be there!

Pastoral transition

In accordance with our United Methodist understanding of pastoral itinerancy, the time has come for Pastor Steve to be appointed to another congregation. The Waverly-Carsley Cooperative Parish will receive a new pastor on July 1st . During the months of May and June, Pastor Steve will be conducting a Farewell Tour, visiting as many Parish members as possible. If you would like for him to visit with you before his departure, please contact him via phone, text, or email as soon as possible so that a date and time can be established. Additional information about the pastoral transition will be provided in the June newsletter.

Church directory photos

We are currently underway with the work to create a new Parish-wide church directory. Pastor Steve began taking photos of church members on Easter. If you have been unable to attend since then and would like to be included in the updated directory, please send the photo that you would like to be included to Pam Green via email at Please also let her know if any of your contact information (address, phone, email, etc.) has changed recently.

Refresh revival

The time for refreshing is upon us! On Thursday, May 16th at 7pm, the churches of the Eastern Region of the Living Waters District will gather at Airfield Conference Center in Wakefield for a special worship service. All are invited to attend, hear two special guest speakers and celebrate with a wonderful praise and worship team. Much work has gone into this gathering, and it is one of the last to occur on our District. So, come one, come all! Let us come and worship Jesus together and experience a true refreshment in our lives and ministry.

Blood Drive

Waverly UMC will once again host the Town of Waverly and the Red Cross on June 4th for their quarterly Blood Drive. Come and donate this life-giving gift as you are able!

VBS is coming!

It is time for Vacation Bible School! Waverly Congregational Christian Church will host VBS
this year from June 9th through the 13th. The theme is Stellar: Shine Jesus’ Light, an out-of-this- world experience. Help us spread the word and bring as many children as possible to learn and have fun together as they grow closer with Jesus and one another in their faith journey.
